The system warns you when you enter invalid information or have an incomplete field.
Some fields are pre-programmed to prevent faulty entry. For example, if you enter a letter in a number field, such as in a question asking for a phone number or year, you will receive a warning message; warning messages are frequently red.
The system will not allow you to submit any form (or accreditation phase) if any required field is empty. The system will allow you to leave a page (usually after warning you), but will usually label an entire section as In Progress. Be especially careful of questions with "Other" as a choice; choosing "Other" usually opens a text box that must be completed.
System messages are usually brightly colored and easy to understand. If you receive a message in "technicalese," log out of the system and clear your browser cache. If you still get the error message, contact APA for support.
